Bank connection status and syncing

Bank connection status and syncing

Basic and above. Bank linking and bank sync are not on Free. This guide is for a Plaid connection on Basic ($9.99/mo or $99.99/yr) or Premium ($19.99/mo or $199.99/yr). Free accounts are not synced from a bank.

When you connect a bank through Plaid, Fiscal Flowcast keeps that connection in sync so your accounts, transactions, and balances stay up to date. We pull new transactions and current balances from your bank and update your accounts and transaction list accordingly. This guide explains connection status and how to fix common issues.

Connection status

Manual sync

You can trigger a sync manually from the Accounts page (open it from the sidebar under "Accounts" on desktop, or from the bottom navigation on mobile). Open the connected account or the connection and choose Sync now. New transactions and the latest balance will be fetched. Automatic updates still run in the background. Manual balance refreshes are limited to 7 per week (UTC). Accounts on the same Plaid Item share one refresh; a duplicate Link at the same bank is a separate refresh.

When to reconnect

Reconnect when you see a message that your bank connection needs to be re-authenticated, or if your bank password changed. Use the same "Link external account" link (then Connect with Plaid) and choose the same institution; we'll update the existing connection.

Sync frequency and delays

How often we sync depends on your settings and Plaid's availability. Some banks show new transactions within minutes; others may take longer. If you don't see a recent transaction, try "Sync now" or check again later.
